Represented on April 28, 1529, on the occasion of the birth of Infanta Isabel, this piece is built as a party in which the end of winter is celebrated and the resurgence of spring nature is celebrated. Thus, there is a confrontation between the charms of the two seasons: on the one hand winter and on the other hand spring (note that at that time, the term spring was used to designate summer and consequently every month in good weather).

The title of the work is not the most appropriate, given that there is the triumph of winter, followed by another triumph, this time of summer.

Gil Vicente builds a great May party, in which Nature enters the scene, and in which the natural cycle is recommended, to which man submit the nature.
